After moving to Andale to raise our family, we started Penney Roofing & Construction as a roofing & siding contractor offering predominantly reroofing but quickly acquired a class “C” license and moved into all aspects of residential contracting due to customer demand. We then shortened our name to Penney Construction. After 19 years of doing a little bit of everything residential, from garages & covered decks to full kitchen and bathroom renovations, we acquired a custom steel building dealership to further diversify & offer our customers a lifetime building investment in a nearly unlimited range of sizes & styles. Reroofing has continued to be a staple throughout our growth & development, & we have transitioned to handle high-volume hail damage roof & gutter repair recently adding Penney Roofing as a dba to Penney Construction to gain more advertising exposure for what has again become our predominant business.

Even with over 25 years of experience, we constantly strive to improve our methods & keep current on new products and trends. Placing a high value on attention to detail ensures a high-quality finished product. In 2014, we acquired a class “B” license to offer services to commercial customers. If we’re not confident we can do it as well or better than 99 percent of the companies out there doing any of the services we offer, we don’t offer it. We believe in hiring skill & expertise, & that’s what we offer in our business. We do work for others the way we’d want it done for ourselves. Our motto for how sturdy & well to build something has always been “better too much than not enough.” This motto has served us & our customers well. Local codes give the minimum allowable materials acceptable to use to complete a construction project. We rarely settle for those standards, choosing instead to do it better or “beef it up.” This is Kansas, after all, & we all know the weather extremes that structures in our state are exposed to. We work like it’s up to us but pray like it’s up to God.

We’re a family business & we’ve employed each of our four children during the summers & Saturdays during the school year. We’ve also employed our brothers, uncles, cousins, nephews, & each of our fathers over the years. We’ve been blessed to have an abundance of quality labor available. We’ve endured the ups and downs of a competitive market by keeping our focus on customer service and satisfaction while offering a wide diversity of products & by nurturing a continually developing repeat customer base that grows exponentially with the referrals of our loyal customers.
